This painting was inspired by a painting trip to a cloud-shrouded mountain pass in Kluane National Park in the Yukon.  Due to fog, several days were spent waiting for our helicopter to bring us back down to base camp and all I had to work with were small sub-alpine ponds outside my tent door. The flora simplicity and contemplative water surface that shows sky, water and earth is an ideal subject for the zen-like execution that the demanding medium of watercolour requires.
