Barneo Ice Camp

Birds eye view of the base camp that drifts above 89°, a plowed runway, helicopter camp, and main base with heated tents makes this a hub of polar activity.  Scientists, explorers and adventure tourism use this base in the brief window of late March and April for the past several years.  (photo by David McEown )
