This painting was inspired from the Jefferson Forest on the Oak Ridges Moraine. This dynamic geological land formation is the headwaters to numerous important rivers, and is home to an incredible diversity of flora and fauna. In southern Ontario the forest floors come alive in the spring; the trilliums catch and soak up the life-giving light energy before the forest canopy leaves unfold.
